Terms

The rules of the room.

These lightweight beta terms clarify what names.dev does and does not promise while the product is still evolving.

Beta product

names.dev is an early product. Generated names, scores, prices, and availability signals should be verified before purchase, launch, fundraising, or public use.

No legal or financial advice

Trademark screens, acquisition notes, equity anchors, valuation notes, and marketplace copy are informational. Use qualified counsel for legal, tax, securities, and transaction decisions.

Domain availability

Availability, price, ownership, renewal rules, premium-registry pricing, and transfer eligibility can change quickly. A domain is not yours until a registrar, marketplace, escrow provider, or seller confirms the transaction.

Surface checks

App store names, Android package names, iOS bundle IDs, social handles, GitHub orgs, package namespaces, and developer surfaces may be live, cached, likely-available, modeled, or manual signals. They require platform verification before launch.

Trademark and brand risk

names.dev does not guarantee trademark clearance, confusing-similarity clearance, search uniqueness, regulatory clearance, cultural clearance, or freedom to operate in any market.

Acquisition limits

names.dev does not guarantee seller acceptance, owner reachability, price accuracy, escrow outcome, transfer timing, account eligibility, or that a premium listing remains available.

Advanced structures

Equity-for-name, lease-to-own, seller-financing, and other non-cash acquisition flows are informational matching only and require independent counsel before any binding agreement.

Human approval

Automated tools may recommend actions, but names.dev requires explicit approval before any write, transfer, offer, listing, DNS, outreach, checkout, or paid action.

Source of truth

Registrar carts, marketplace pages, app-store consoles, social platforms, trademark databases, escrow providers, and signed agreements are the source of truth before money moves.
