- Search
- Your brief, preferred endings, and budget are used to generate and evaluate names and retrieve registrar and marketplace evidence. Relevant inputs are sent to the configured AI and domain providers. Their own processing policies also apply. Public search responses may be cached briefly to make repeated searches faster.
- Saved names and history
- Saved names and recent searches stay in your browser until you remove them or clear browser storage. They are not an account backup and do not automatically synchronize between devices.
- Shared shortlists
- Creating a share link uploads the title, brief, selected domains, and preferences you review. Anyone with the complete link can read that shortlist. Links expire after 30 days. The browser that created a link stores a separate revocation key so you can stop sharing sooner. Availability and prices are checked separately; they are not implied by a saved name.
- Operating metrics
- The search operating report retains daily aggregate counts for 30 days, including completed searches, returned acquisition paths, cache hits, source issues, and shared shortlist activity. These aggregate records omit briefs, domains, IP addresses, and customer identifiers.
- Assistants
- Public assistants connect directly to names.dev. Our private Rufio connection is used for platform operations and is separate from customer access. Connecting a customer assistant does not give it access to private operating tools.
- Purchases
- Provider links take you to the registrar or marketplace, whose checkout and privacy policies apply. A search, shortlist, or provider link does not purchase or reserve a domain.
